Computer Using Educators of BC (CUEBC) are proud to present British Columbia’s longest-running educational technology professional development experience. For over 35 years, CUEBC has offered opportunities for all K-12 teachers to explorehttps://cuebc.ca/events/vancouver-island-technology-for-learning-summit-2019/ the changing world of technology with their classrooms. Teachers from all subject areas and all levels of technological experience have been coming back to CUEBC year after year for high-quality professional development that supports technologically mediated creativity and classroom innovation. In 2019 we are focusing on the role of technology in the delivery of British Columbia’s revised curriculum. How can technology benefit your practice, improve learning outcomes for your students, and increase your ability to communicate student learning? In addition to this, renowned keynote speaker, Ana Homayoun, will highlight the changing face of adolescence as our students navigate a new, hyper-social, digital world.

Media Wellness: Understanding the Intersection of School, Stress and Social
Working with kids in today‘s digital world has never been so complex, and keeping up with the latest social media trends can seem like a never-ending challenge. Today‘s technology-infused learning environments play host to many distractions, including social media. Many teens and young adults typically use online tools to promote and maintain community, and with that opportunity comes potential challenges. Ana helps parents and educators understand the new world of social media socialization, and provides practical tips on how we can all work to make better choices around social media use and overall wellness.
The second conference will be hosted at Oak Bay High School on the South Island Pro-D Day Friday, Nov. 22nd 2019.
