All members attending events on instructional days need to complete an LOA form a minimum of 15 business days in advance.
UNION LOA REQUIREMENT: For all Union release time (STA Training/Pro-D Leaves) All teachers must be replaced by a TTOC on an instructional day you would normally work, even if you are Non-Enrolling or not usually replaced. This is important for a number of reasons, including giving TTOCs work and protecting our language in the CA (Local LOU #3). Please contact the STA Office if you require assistance assigning a workplace/assignment for your TTOC replacement.
Teachers with ≥ 0.4 FTE as of Sept. 30 who participate in a Pro-D workshop or classroom observation on an instructional day will be granted up to a 1.0 FTE TTOC credit per Pro-D school year.
TTOCs and teachers with < 0.4 FTE as of Sept. 30 who have available Pro-D Funds, may use those funds to pay the fixed rate cost of a TTOC to replace them as indicated below.
Upon approval, the STA office will provide approval to the Sooke School District on your behalf.
While the STA will be billed actual costs of the TTOC, internally a member’s account(s) are billed at an averaged fixed rate as below.
FLAT RATE LOA FEES:
- $400 for a full day
- $240 for a 0.6
- $200 for a 0.5
- $160 for a 0.4 (minimum allowed)
